Everybody knows that Mitsubishi Lancer from Mitsubishi Motors Corp (MMC) is one of the most famous cars in the world; Lancer is one of Mitsubishi’s icons. One of Lancer’s specialties is that he has a powerful engine. So, he becomes one of the most successful cars on World Rally Championship (WRC) in the 90’s. Lancer is entering its next generation, which is Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution XI.
This next Lancer still bring powerful engine under its hood. But Mitsubishi Motors as the owner of Lancer change the power source of their sedan with hybrid technology. This revolution shows that Mitsubishi Motors also has commitment to reduce pollution but still gives satisfaction to their costumers. Even give a hybrid technology, but Lancer still has its power. It is proved by its Lancer XI’s acceleration which only needs 4.5 sec to reach 96 km/h.
Hybrid Technology on Lancer is applied from PX-MiEV which has been showed on Tokyo Motor Festival last year. This sedan is using Hybrid only for front wheel, on the rear still using gasoline. This application makes hybrid technology on this car will dominant when it is driven in the city. But, we have to wait, because The Mitsubishi Motors Corp. will launch this Lancer on 2013.
