The beta of Google Voice is now open to the market of United States, so everybody can now sign up, no invites anymore. But what you can do with this new app? Here I will show you 10 things..
1 – Free VoIP calls:
Just simply use your free Sipgate service, and feed it into your Google Voice Account
2 – Free SMS from any phone:
If you use Android or Blackberry phones this already sets up. But if you don’t have those phones, you still can do it by configuring Google Voice to forwarding text messages to your phone. When someone text to your GVN (Google Voice Number) you will see 406 numbers, it’s your friends “other†number that you can text back.
3 – Use it on you iPhone:
Yes you can do this, just use GVMax free app to monitor Google Voice and send it to your mailbox.
4 – Text from your IM:
With GVXMPP you can do this pretty much easy.
5 – Unlimited Voice
First, pick an unlimited voice plan from your US cellular carrier, and set your GVN as one of “friendsâ€.
6 – Notes for Yourself:
You can do this by setting up a group, setting a special voice for that (to avoid miscommunication), and add your own mobile phone to the group. Then you should set the direct access of your Voice mail to NO, and you can send it to your mailbox (by advanced setting)
7 – “Do Not Disturbâ€
By setting this up, all calls to your GVN should be going to voice mail.
8 – Location Based Ring
With GPS enabled, you can determine which phone is ringing when somebody calls your GVN.
9 – Sets your GVN as your Skype Caller ID
Yes you can do this one.
10 – Email managed Voicemail and Text
Have fun!
