Hottie Sony: Vaio Overheating Problem

This is quite a blow for Sony, one of world top notebook manufacturers. They forced to recalls over 500.000 of their laptop units because of overheating problem. Not only can burn your skin, the problem also can make the shape distorting. Even though no serious incident reported yet about this problem, but I personally praise for Sony quick response about the problem.

This problem detected in some of C and F-series that shipped since January 2010, so you better check out if your Vaio is in the Hot-List. Here is the series, for Japanese Models:

VPCF119FJ/BI, PCF118FJ/W, VPCF117FJ/W, VPCCW29FJ/W, VPCCW28FJ/P, VPCCW28FJ/R, VPCCW28FJ/W, VPCF11AFJ, VPCF11AGJ, VPCF11AHJ, VPCF11ZHJ, VPCCW2AFJ, VPCCW2AHJ

And for outside Japan models are: VPCCW25FG/B, VPCCW25FG/P, VPCCW25FG/W

For the tally of this product are; in US 259,000 unit, Europe 103,000, Asia 120,000 and Japan 52,000 units for a total sum 534,000 units worldwide.

Luckily the problem can be solved by a simple BIOS update. But if you do not want to do it by yourself, you can simply bring the laptop unit to nearest SONY service center to fix this up for you.
