The green little glider is called the Micro Air Vehicle. It is still being developed by MIT which functions as a potential surveillance toll. For that small craft, they will be going to need big batteries. It is not sure yet what MIT is planning on the powering system, since this is merely a glider. Yet, MIT believes they know what they are doing.
On the other hand, if the Micro Air Vehicle has a power draw, it will not work for long without having big batteries supplied in it. However, the big batteries will surely make it difficult to fly. Therefore, the engineers at the MIT decide to have the glider reload its power supply by going straight to the battery source, the power lines. The glider mainly swoops on and just lets the computer control does the rest as it comes near to the cable.
It may be difficult for a plane that light to be controlled by hand, moreover during the stalling maneuver. Yet, the computer knows that to do right, as it ends by setting itself with a small hook on the power lines. In this position, the Micro Air Vehicle may vulnerable and surely there will be more benefits to come.
