Toshiba has just released its new line of the 2.5” mobile drives. This 7200 RPM SATA drive is designed for those demanding users and those who demand the optimization of power consumption, performance and also durability requirements.

Toshiba has also released three total drive lines, in which each of it offers a different role in the small-form-factored computing system. The first is the MKxx61GSY which is designed for gaming machines, high-end notebooks and also mobile workstations. Its size ranges from 160GB up to 640GB and will be available on the Q3 of 2010. The next hard drive is the MKxx61GSY line which is used for applications that require more stamina such as Facebook’s photo gallery. It is designed for speed and storage capacity as well as power consumption, acoustics and durability. The size ranges from 80GB up to 500GB and will be available on the Q4 of 2010.

The last is Toshiba’s Self-Encrypting Drive line or the SED line that is used for secretive tasks which requires clearance. This line is normally use for secret agents and government’s needs as it follows the standards of security from the TCG Opal Specification. There are no further details about its release date.
