Audio Disappointment from Android 2.2

In July 2005, Google built Android, a small company providing the Operating System and software for mobile phones. In July 2007, Android launched Android platform which received many positive review from the market. Intended to follow the success of its old version, Google once again then launched the Android 2.2 in 2010. After its trial, the Android 2.2, Google’s next version of mobile operating system installed to devices such as Evo and Droid is proven to be insufficient especially for its sound.

Despite its speed, the audio streaming of this operating system is very disappointing. The defected sound of Android 2.2 makes its user not being able to receive clear sound when tuning into music services like Pandora, TuneWiki, or MOG. When it comes to audio, noisy sounds when streaming are something unpleasant. Popular music services are usually the ones to blame for having bad quality of sound instead of the Operating System.

Clarifications from Google revealed that the bad quality of Android 2.2 audio is caused by Android’s switch from OpenCore to Stagefright media framework. Stagefright’s media codec is not suitable with most of popular music streaming software. This is a flaw which Google promise will be fixed as soon as possible.
