Technology has its way to develop. So does Canon. Recently, Canon Inc. made an announcement to have developed the first APS-H-size CMOS (Complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor) sensor for imaging resolution of about 120 Mp within the resolution of 13,280 x 9,184 pixels. This, Canon proudly announced, is by far regarded as the highest resolution a gadget ever reached for such size. When compared to another Canon CMOS sensor within the same size of resolution, the 120 million pixels of the new sensor clearly defeated the 16.1 million pixels. The latest APS-H-size CMOS sensor is 7.5 times better than the previous one and give increasing resolution performance up to 2.4 fold.
The new technology of the CMOS sensors is said to be able to read data up to 9.5 frames within one second. With this higher rate of speed, images with the highest resolution ever can be handled easily by this conductor without any trouble of delay.
This new improved CMOS sensor also comes with video output enables up to 1,920 x 1,080 pixels or Full HD. The CMOS sensor can result one sixtieth size of the Full HD video total image. Images taken from gadgets using this new CMOS sensor can still maintain their high definition rate even though cropped or enlarged.
