lthough people nowadays tend to choose tablets, Eking, a computing manufacturer based in China, does not ignore the fact that people are still in high need of UMPC (Ultra-Mobile Personal Computer). Lately, Eking released its recent UMPC product, the Eking E5 UMPC. Comes with generous bundle, the Eking E5 UMPC is said to have quite similar features with the UMPC Advantage from another computer producer, the HTC.
As an UMPC, the Eking E5 has quite complete features. The portable PC uses the 5 inch WSGA screen (1.024 x 600), and powered by Intel Atom Z515 1.2 GHz processor. This UMPC is also equipped with 16 Gb SSD, 1 Gb DDR2 memory, GPS service, Bluetooth, 3G on-board, 802.11b/g WiFi, and 3 Mp camera. Unfortunately, the endurance of 2,600 mAh battery from the Eking E5 UMPC is undiscovered.
Alongside with the E5 UMPC, Eking also released various accessories for the UMPC. Eking E5 UMPC is sold at the Chinese market with the price of around $800. It is too bad that nowadays, the marketing division of Eking does not make this product available outside Chinese market. There are also no indication the Eking E5 UMPC will hit Europe or American market these days.
