It is always a good way when the researchers of robots work to find ways to improve the life of people, yet the new close-fitting robotic waling aid that was developed by the Japanese researches looks like it needs some extra works still. This robotic walking air seems to be made only for people who have trouble to walk yet they do not want to use any crutches.
The robotic walking aid can also be used for any rehabilitation purposes. It is indeed more of a kit that consists of a motor, a battery, a computer and some other gear which can be easily carried in a backpack. In addition, the driving force is transmitted even though a flexible shaft is made of the twisted piano wire and makes it difficult to achieve the wanted result. It leads to a discreet walking aid.
At this point, this robotic walking aid seems to be hacky overall, especially if users compare it with other vaguely similar solutions such as the exoskeleton HAL-5, yet the researches mention that they will still work for 5 more years to get a ready practical version. Whatever the result may be, it is expected that this robot will help people.
