Yesterday, Lenovo launched ultraportable ThinkPad Edge 11 that offers 11 to 13 inch displays. ThinkPad Edge 11 has the same chassis with the previous Edge laptop versions. Actually, no significant difference is found in the look. It has 1.1-inch thick and 3.3-pound weight just like the X100e version. However, the newest version comes with ultra low voltage of 1.33GHz Core i3 U380 processor for speed, 2GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive for reliability.
Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 11 also comes with glossy cherry red. What an attractive color! If you prefer black, it is also available in glossy black and matte black. Most parts of the machine are still made of plastic but they do not hide the sense of sturdiness and power. The ThinkPad Edge 11 has a comparably weight to that of the netbooks; thus, it will not bother the owner when transported anywhere. An improvement is evident in the extremely comfortable keyboard with chiclet concept.
Lenovo seems to have learned much from the previous version that only offered three-hour battery life. Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 11 is equipped with a battery that lasts up to five hours. It is an improvement even though some competitors can offer more than that. Another problem is that the US enthusiasts needs to withhold their desire to have one, at least for a while, since it is not yet available in the United States.
