GoGear Connect, Complex Media Player from Philips

Apple once again becomes an inspiring manufacturer of trend when it comes to gadget. Although the first generation of iPod has been released for a long time ago and many series have been issued, competing manufacturers are not giving up. This year’s last October will be Philips’ time to release another MP4 Player. The new product from Philips, the GoGear Connect is inspired by the iPod’s touchscreens and complexness of applications installed.

The Philips GoGear Connect features vast range of mobile applications, especially from Google. Although entitled as a media player, the Philips GoGear Connect has than any standard media players have. The player uses WiFi connectivity, the Skyhook map tracker and, not to mention a 3.2 inch touchscreen. Although not clearly confirmed by Philips itself, several retailers mentioned the Android 2.1 operating system as the player’s platform.

The Philips GoGear Connect is planned to be available at the market within two months. China, Western Europe, and the United States are the first countries to get the chance of first encounter with the product. There are no supporting details the product’s storage capacity. It is only said that the player with 16 Gb of capacity will be sold for €249 or about $315.
