LaCie, a company famous for producing storage gadgets for Apple, PC, and Linux has recently threwn a press release which introducing its new USB 3.0 portable Hard Disk Drives. Operating in America, Asia, and Europe, LaCie has been designing hard drives with sleek designs and maximum performances. The new products from LaCie are called the LaCie Rikiki USB 3.0 and LaCie Minimus USB 3.0. Recalled from their names, the two types of LaCie storage devices are using the new technology of USB 3.0. This technology enables users of the two devices to transfer data faster than any portable hard drives using the USB 2.0 technology.
Both LaCie Rikiki and LaCie Minimus are designed with aluminum cases which are sturdy yet elegant. The aluminum material used by the two products allows the hard drives to avoid hazardous agents and release the heat faster. Both Rikiki and Minimus can work well with USB 2.0 thanks to their backward compatibility. LaCie Rikiki and Minimus can transfer data up to 5 Gb/second.
The LaCie Rikiki USB 3.0 and LaCie Minimus USB 3.0 are differentiated based on their storage capacity. The smaller Rikiki is available in 500 Gb and 1 Tb of capacity and sold starting from $99.99. Meanwhile the Minimus which is a little larger than Rikiki, is available in 1 Tb and 2 Tb with the pricing starts from $129.99.
