Novatel have just confirmed its support for Verizon through its USB551L LTE modem. As the name implies, the model is LTE-enabled. When the Novatel USB551L LTE modem is included, so far Verizon have gotten three LTE-capable modems. The previous models are from Pantech and LG. Compared to the previous models, Novatel’s upcoming USB551L is sleeker, glossier and more durable.
Actually, not many details are available on the specs of the Novatel’s upcoming USB551L modem. It is presumably lacking CDMA/EV-DO fallback since Novatel had never mentioned about the spec. However, Novatel USB551L LTE modem for Verizon is allegedly supporting Mac – a feature that was not possessed by the previous models. The support for Mac allows the model to reach more customers, not only Windows users but also Mac users, even though Verizon has not mentioned how to set up the modem for Macs.
Novatel USB551L LTE modem is known for the cheapest mobile broadband feature for 4G mobile broadband feature that ensures its superior performance. The modem is also equipped with USB connector that allows for flexible orientation. As usual, when the modem is plugged into the USB slot, the 4-color simple LED light is on. So far, no information is available on when it will be officially released and how much it will cost. However, it is expected to hit the market soon.
