Toshiba’s Sandy Bridge-Powered Dynabook T551/D8B Laptop with 3D Compatibility

The 3D technology has been so common among the technology enthusiasts. However, many 3D enthusiasts are bothered by the fact that they are dependent upon 3D glasses to enjoy the 3D content. After Fujitsu revealed glass-free 3D desktop, Toshiba follows the same path by introducing a glass-free 3D notebook, Toshiba Dynabook T551/D8B. It is targeted at the gamers and the lovers of 3D videos and movies. Here are the details of the notebook.

Toshiba Dynabook T551/D8B is built with a 15.6-inch display, which projects a resolution of 1.366 x 768. The display is more than enough to enjoy the videos and games in full brightness. There is 3D-compatible Blu-ray drive to enjoy the 3D content. The notebook is powered by Sandy Bridge CPU, Core i7-263QM processor. Internal memory of 8GB and 750 GB of HDD offer spacious storage. For connectivity, Toshiba builds the notebook with a USB3.0 port, three USB2.0 ports, and HDMI output.

Toshiba Dynabook T551/D8B runs pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium as operating system. What is interesting is NVIDIA GeForce graphics accelerator with 1 GB of internal memory. The graphics includes 3D features. Therefore, it does not need separate 3D glasses. The customers also find standardized features like webcam, Gigabit Ethernet LAN. The problem probably lies on the battery that lasts only about 2.8 hours. The notebook will be available in Japan for about $2.540 next month.

Sony Introduces Five New Blu-players With Unlimited Internet Access

The movie lovers must be looking for fast and dependable, and of course, affordable Blu-ray players. For the 2011, Sony has made its commitment to provide the movie lovers with a variety of Blu-ray players with prices ranging from $150 to $250. At CES 2011, Sony began by introducing new Sony Blu-Players. Sony promises Internet video streaming, wireless multi-room Audio, Blu-ray 3D, and Wi-Fi features.

The full HD 1080p Blu-ray players include four models. The first is BDP-S780, BDP-S580, BDP-S480, and BDP-S380. In addition to the four stand-alone Blu-players, Sony also introduced the first portable Blu-ray disk player with a codename BDP-SX1000. It is different from the previous models in that it is equipped with a 10.1-inch WSVGA screen. Overall, the five Blu-ray player models offer the users with access to more than 40 free movies as well as premium movies, videos, and music. They are compatible with DVDs, CDs, and SACDS; they are also capable of converting 2D contents to 3D contents for facilitated access and video streaming.

The Blu-players are supported by BRAVIA Internet Video platform for unlimited internet access to the leading content providers, such as Netflix, Pandora, Amazon, YouTube, Crakle, HuluPlus, and many more. Of the four modes, BDP-S380 model will come first in February for about $150, then, BDP-S780 and BDP-S480 in March, and BDP-S780 model in April. The portable model will come in spring for about $300.

The New Toshiba Tablet with Mysterious Name Gets a Flash-Based Website

Since Toshiba confirmed to release a new Android Tablet, many reviewers have been attempting to find out the name of the tablet. However, the name of the tablet is still a mystery, even though the features begin to come out one by one. After it was confirmed that the new tablet is powered by Android 3.0 or Honeycomb, another part of the mystery is revealed. The new Toshiba Android 3.0 tablet is given its own Flash-based website.

Despite a special website, the specs of the tablet are still on the cloud. Toshiba seems intentionally willing to keep the name mystery. As has been revealed before, the leaked specs of the tablet include NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, a 10.1-inch capacitive multi-touch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800, and a replaceable battery even though no information on battery life. Toshiba also revealed that the tablet would have “Quick-Key Buttons”. Again, no detail is available on how the technology works.

Other specs available so far include a 5-megapixel rear camera, Wi-Fi, mini USB ports, HDMI output, Bluetooth and SD slots, and headphone jack. They are standardized features of current tablets, aren’t they? The new Toshiba tablet will be officially announced in the spring of the year, when Toshiba will reveal full specs and features, and of course, the name of the tablet. According to its Flash-based website, the tablet will be available in five colors – another mystery.

MSI Integrates a Swivel Projector into an Upcoming Tablet Model

Using conventional tablets, you need to use a separate projector device to support your presentation. Of course, it is rather complicated when you have to connect the laptop or tablet to the projector before the presentation. Now, MSI brings another breakthrough by integrating a built-in projector into an MSI’s tablet. MSI’s projector equipped Windows 7 tablet has not been formally launched; it has been one of the hottest topics among the gadget reviewers.

Not much information is available on the features and the specs of the tablet. Among the few leaked specs are an Atom processor, 10-inch display, and a swivel projector. Yes, no details are available on what kind of Atom processor supports the tablet, nor leaks on the resolution, and the details of the built-in projector. In addition, MSI has not confirmed the types of software that will support the integration of built-in swivel projector into the tablet.

The new concept from MSI has been swirling around since CES 2011. At CES, it was found that the upcoming tablet from MSI has a rotating cylinder at the upper part of the tablet. It is seemingly the projector module. Swivel projector will be a great help for educational and business purposes, since it can be projected to different direction without turning the direction of the tablet. Unfortunately, since it was only a prototypical model, it is hard to infer the exact features and specs of the tablet.
