Sandy Bridge-Powered Laptop War Begins. Who are The Participants?

Intel’s Sandy Bridge is the star! The second-generation Intel’s Dual Core processors are widely anticipated since its official introduction at CES event in January. Now, they are coming. Sandy Bridge-powered laptops have hit the stores. Here are some of them. Let’s begin with Dell. This week, Dell updated Inspiron R series laptops with Sandy Bridge CPU. The laptops are available in three different options, Inspiron 14R, 15R, and 17R, all of which are powered by Sandy Bridge CPU.

Latitude E5000 and E6000 are other Sandy Bridge laptops from Dell. HP also participates through its Pavilion dv6, d7. It is a 15.6-inch laptop powered by Sandy Bridge CPU, 6GB of RAM, and 640GB of hard drive. Combined with AMD Radeon 6490M graphics, could you imagine the performance of the Sandy Bridge CPU? HP also contributes to the Sandy Bridge war through G-Series, which is known for budget friendly laptops. Lenovo comes with ThinkPad T420 and ThinkPad T520.

What differentiates between both laptops is that the T420 version offers Core i3 and Core i5 processors, while T520 series offers Intel’s Core i7 processors. Samsung and Sony are other participants with Samsung presenting Series 9 and Sony with its best-selling brand, VAIO C Series. All of the laptops have been on shelves. Each offers its own advantages and disadvantages. You might not see significant difference between them. Which one would you choose?
