Gaming devices such as Android-based smart phones and tablets become the recent targets of Playstation Suite. Sony Computer Entertainment plans to integrate the PS Suite into Android tablets and phones powered by NVIDIA Tegra. The plan was announced during a press event in Japan when, at the same time, it announced the coming of Next Generation Portable Entertainment System (NGP). NGP will support PS 3 and Android games. NVIDIA also confirmed the news through “TegraZone” Android app.
As a part of the efforts in providing and expanding PS experience for the customers, Sony began by offering PlayStation Certified license program. The program will include development support and logo license to make sure that the customers will get high quality PS games. By the end of the year, Sony also offer wide arrays of PS games, including Wild Arms, Cool Boarders 2, and Syphon Filter that can be enjoyed from Tegra-enabled devices.
Unfortunately, Sony Entertainment System did not specify which Tegra-2-supported devices would get Playstation Suite in addition to Xperia Play from Sony Ericsson. Therefore, nobody can determine whether Tegra-2 devices such as Motorola Atrix 4G and Motorola Xoom tablet will get the PS Suite. Neither did Sony mention which smart phones would enjoy the services. However, Sony makes it clear that only devices supported by Gingerbread (Android 2.3) or higher will get it.
