Another innovative product comes from Geneva Auto Show. The show proves that the car owners are now a promising target of the development in in-car information system. The producers seems to recognize what the car owners need while driving their car. Yes, infotainment features allow them to enjoy entertainment features and celebrity updates while they are riding. This week, a collaborative line of infotainment system comes from Harman and Mercedes.
What makes it different is that the new Becker Map Pilot navigation system is updatable with simple in-dash setup. The updatable infotainment system from Harman and Mercedes works with Becker Map Pilot, which serves to connect the IP stack to update the system. To update the unit, you have to remove it from the dash and connect it to a PC installed with a software application through an online store. Currently, the upgradable IP system can only be enjoyed by Ford owners.
Some benefits of the new in-car infotainment navigation system include voice recognition and steering wheel control. It integrates the flexibility of auto navigation system with the driver cockpit. The unit works by continuously connecting itself to the on-board radio and fixed-screen electronics in the car. It is positioned on the car steering wheel to facilitate the driver in reaching the on/off push and use the unit for voice command.
