Vodafone MiFi R201 for Portable Connectivity

Cellular provider Vodafone is rapidly make innovations to deal with high demand of faster internet connectivity. Working together with Huawei, Vodafone has recently released portable internet connectivity the Vodafone MiFi R201. Before working together with Huawei, the Vodafone Company cooperated with Novatel to produce the model Vodafone MiFi 2352 which was circulated around Spain.

Like other Vodafone devices made by Huawei, the Vodafone MiFi R201 has typical design. The device is plasticky white with red band ornament surrounding the device. The Vodafone MiFi R201 is not too sturdy that it releases squeaky while squeezed at certain area. The noise is thought to be the result of the detachable back surface of the device.  The cover at the back surface is protecting the battery, SIM slot, as well as the microSD slot.

The Vodafone MiFi R201 is not equipped with complicated controlling buttons. The device is only packed with two buttons. The first button is used for starting the screen and activating the setup for protected WiFi connection. Other button, given with red light as the indicator is used for switching the device’s power. While activated, user can see the status of the device including the signal potency and the internet connectivity.

Logitech Wireless Speaker Z515 and Logitech Laptop Speaker Z305 for Portability and Simplicity

Both kinds of speakers are to launch bay leading audio instruments manufacturer, Logitech. To respect the value of portability, Logitech presents two new speaker products, the z515 and Z305. The Z515 is an entirely wireless speaker, while the Z305 is a laptop speaker with very simple usage. A laptop user should only connect its short cable to the USB port and attach the speaker to the laptop’s surface.

Both Logitech Wireless Speaker Z515 and Logitech Laptop Speaker Z305 have their own winning features. While the simple-designed Z305 is especially made for laptops, the Z515 is made for portable gadgets such as the iPhone or iPad without any wiry connection. Both speakers are made for users who are not satisfied with audio resulted from small speakers of laptops and common media players.

By using the wireless technology of 2.4 GHz, The Logitech Wireless Speaker Z515 allows up to 15 m or 50 feet sound range. The users just have to plug in the wireless adapter to deliver the sound instantly. With the Logitech Laptop Speaker Z305, the users can have lighter speaker. The speaker is only 0.5 pound. The two speakers are launched to the market this September.

The SWOT or SafetyWeb Online Tracking is a free website especially designed for law enforcers to track missing children.  The SWOT works by tracking activities in social network providers such as Twitter, Facebook, or Myspace. By gathering information from these services, the SWOT is aimed at finding out the location where a child might at. The SWOT also gives services for tracking the children based on photo and video footages.

In the United States where more than 2,000 children missing each day, the SWOT is a very supportive tool in assisting the law enforcers’ job to find the children. For the U.S. law enforcers, the SafetyWeb provides this service for free. Only verifiable law enforcers can access this website freely. As civilians, other people can also access this website by paying several amounts of money.

In solving the missing children cases, the SafetyWeb is assisted by First Round Capital and Battery Ventures. The SafetyWeb is reported to have received $8 million as the fund to raise the SWOT program. Together with other tracking providers such as Kidsafe and SocialShield, the SWOT program still continue to find America’s missing children.

The Trio of Buffalo Wireless-N Devices for Home Connectivity

Rocket Rentals Sell Twitter’s Advertisers Provider, Magpie

Magpie, the first streaming provider for advertisers on Twitter is announced to be sold in the next two years. Launched in October 20, 2008, Magpie works by associating advertisers with topics raised by the twitterers. For example, to promote a new model of smartphone, Magpie will detect which twitterer who has the interest in the phone topic and introduce the smartphone’s advertisement to the said twitterer.

With around 20 millions of Twitter followers and 5,000 advertisers registered in Magpie, Jan Schulz-Hofen, the CEO and co-founder of Magpie uttered that the company insists on selling Magpie because advertisements nowadays tend to be spams. Not wanting spams on their network, Rocket Rentals, the company which built Magpie said, it is better to shut the service down.

Besides battling against spams, Schulz-Hofen also revealed that the company selling Magpie due to their boredom towards their job as an agency for advertisement. Rocket Rentals wishes to develop something bigger to be presented on Twitter. The people of Rocket Rentals dream of having a provider for the advertisers which can allow the advertisers to manage their own advertising strategies. This means that while the company still provides the platform for the advertisements, they are no longer have the responsibility to do the budgeting and ad campaign arrangements like before.

Tab Candy Helps Your Organize The Opened Tabs

It is exciting to browse the web; you can get any information that you need only by making some clicks and it will be presented only within some seconds. Sometimes, you don’t even realize that you open multiple tabs and use different web browsers to open the web pages. It is nice to open all your favorite web pages but sometimes it is confusing when you need to find a page that you have opened.

Today, Firefox offers you a great solution for this problem. They create Tab Candy, a new feature that will help you organize multiple tabs that you open. Now, Tab Candy is still being tested by the team from Firefox but it seems that this new feature will be needed by everyone. Tab Candy looks like the combination between Apple’s Expose feature and Spaces feature. This new feature enables you to zoom out and present bird’s-eye-view of all your opened tabs. It is also possible for you to arrange the opened tabs in certain spaces; as the result, they will clump together. With this new feature, it would be easier for you to find a certain tab that you have opened.

By using Tab Candy, you can organize the tabs into some groups and change the groups’ size in the birds’-eye-view mode. Today, Firefox 4 beta with Tab Candy is available on the web and you can download it to test this new feature.

Chump Dump: Dump People on Twitter

We will never know where we will see something new and innovative even though we live in Central Ohio, in which it is known as the Sili-com Valley. At the gathering of the local Mobile Monday, there was a man named Dan Rockwell who spoke about the latest mobile application in his company; Chump Dump.

The cheeky concept of this application is that it is both serious and funny at the same time. It gains points to stop following people on Twitter. Though the application may recall Whopper Sacrifice Campaign held by Crispin Porter for its Facebook’s unfriendling people, the Chump Dump has indeed a utilitarian and purer result in our mind as it cleans the people we follow on Twitter by using actual metrics, game mechanics and also crowd-sourced conversation.

Yet, Chump Dump can actually add more value on relationship as well as reputation status to our Twitter stream if we do not analyze the people that we follow actively. Why do we have lists of people who we do not really know? In addition, it is also possible to see the list of the dumped people by using Chumpdar mashup. This application is indeed very funny. There are many new things that happened outside Google’s plan though. But this is all business all about. Many unexpected things happened and this is will not always end to bad things.

The Google Nexus One actually has already been marketed since few months ago. But this time the company made a different strategy of sales. The Nexus One will not be presented in the online company store. Customers are not be able to buy it online anymore through the official store. This is something different strategies that not all companies would have been doing. The headset will be offered through KT in far away country, which is in South Korea, Vodafone that located in Europe and maybe in other local markets. Bad news is for American customers, because they cannot buy it directly online here. It will be hard to get it in directly. But if customers are registered Android developer, they able to buy in several sales partner from Google.

The Nexus One has Wi-Fi, has a high quality of screen that has exact the same resolution like the Droid.  This headset has better color, like for example the black color is blacker, and looks extra vibrant. It really makes customers feel happy to have it.

Chrome Now the 3rd in US

Apple now is in iPhone4 euphoria with the 1.7 million sales just for 3 days. But this week is the time for Safari web browser’s sorrow in browser war. Yes, according to StatCounter, this week, starting from 21 until 27 June 2010, Google Chrome is crowned with the 3rd most use browser in US for the first time in history.

Chrome revolt to the third position before 2 years since it launched. It was remarkably like a browser coup since Chrome grows from zero. The battle between Safari and Chrome in browser war can be easily compared to iPhone versus Android in mobile area. But the winner is still Microsoft Internet Explorer with 52% user across US; the second best is Firefox with 28.5% and then the 3rd is Google Chrome for 8.97%. Safari now sits on 4th place with 8.88%.

For the global market, Chrome already makes big difference ahead of Safari. Still the 1st is Internet Explorer with 53% global market dominance. The 2nd is Firefox with 31%. And then Chrome with 9.4% while Safari only sits on 4%. This global data is gathered by StatCounter from around 3.6 billion page views; while in US surveys are around 874 million page views. So good luck iPhone, and good bye Safari.
