Low Cost E-Scooter: the EC-03

Yamaha Japan has just released the EC-03, an electric scooter with 50cc capacity which is powered by lithium ion battery of 50V/14Ah. This scooter can run up to 43 km or at around 30 km/h on a flat road per charge. The charge itself takes around six hours. Yamaha also says that this electric scoter is all we need.

In addition, Yamaha claims that the charge of this Smart Minimal Commuter, that is what the e-scooter named, will set us back $0.20 per charge in electric costs. The EC-03 is sized at only 1.565 m X 0.6 m x 0.990 m, it weighs 56 kg and it has a minimum of 1.7 m of turning radius. In addition, its wheels are of lightweight aluminum and it even has a high-function LCD panel as well as electronic throttle.

In addition, it is completed with suspension of large diameter of spring coils for more comfortable ride. This EC-03 is also a zero-emission electric scooter. It will predictably go on sale in September, in the metropolitan area in Tokyo. It will be followed by sale for other areas in Japan a month later, in which this e-scooter will cost $2,850. The EC-03 is available in brown and white. In addition, Yamaha also plans to make international sales.
