Sony Releases 3-D Surround Headsets for FPS in October

This month, Sony announced to release two types of headsets for gamers, the DR-GA500 and DR-GA200. From Sony’s press release on August 17, 2010, it is said that both type of headsets are applicable for games with long duration. These headsets are equipped with the new technology of “triple enfolding” pad.  This technology allows the headsets to be worn comfortably for long time making it possible for gamers who usually play online games with multi-players.

The press release from Sony did not give much detail on the DR-GA200 headset. Meanwhile, the DR-GA500 headset is said to have the cross features between the Dolby Pro Logic IIx and Virtual Phones Technology from Sony; a combination which create a 3-Dimensional 7.1 channel sound with surround sound effect.  The DR-GA500 headset is especially promoted for the kind of games which require sensitive sense of hearing like FPS.

So far, Sony did not state the price for these two new designs of headsets. The exact date of the product launching is also remains in secrecy. One thing for sure, the products will be released in October. Along with the product, Sony will give away complimentary copy of the most recent version of FPS game Medal of Honor.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

In November 2009 it was reported that sales of all games that came in the series Call of Duty, exceeded $ 3 billion today Activision Blizzard has pleased fans of the blockbuster one more good news. According to the publisher in the retail gunman Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has earned more than $ 1 billion, Activision did not indicate how many boxes have been sold, but analysts suggest that it is roughly about 16.7 million units.

Game Modern Warfare 2 has become the loudest release of November, but that publishers have spent an impressive amount of money. For example, the advertising budget of the product was $ 200 million production itself cost $ 40-50 million (which is far too much for such a short game). Activision managed to recover all funds expended in the first five days, during which the project brought in $ 550 million

I think that in the near future, Activision Blizzard will continue to actively exploit this popular brand, releasing more and more new games in the series Call of Duty.
