We may have heard before about the GPS parachutes. It is not something new for us and we may think that there are already some of these parachutes which are dropped somewhere in an area in this world now. Yet, there is a new deal between the US Joint Forces Command and also the Armed Services Blood Program that they will allow these GPS parachutes to saves more lives in 2011.

It is said that there will be some of air-dropped GPS parachutes will be sent to the battlefield’s front lines with the intention of delivering vital blood to the medics. The reason behind it is because blood lost is indeed the major cause of people die in war. When we can skip all the lengthy process that is normally done by the ordinary delivery system, we can save more soldiers.

The GPS parachutes can carry the various payloads from 150 pounds to 60,000 pounds. In addition, this parachute is able to steer goods to an exact target. It uses a new system, JPADS, to sneak into the locations that were impossible to be penetrated. Therefore, by using the GPS parachutes, it is possible to decrease the number of dead soldiers in a battlefield.
