Two great mobile phone companies which are merged into one network is surely a making great profit. Perhaps this is what the member of boards in Nokia and Siemens companies thought in 2006 before merging their two great companies. As a joint venture between the COM division of Siemens and Network Business Group of Nokia, this network can be said as one of the largest mobile provider nowadays.
The first announcement of the foundation of Nokia Siemens Network was delivered in June 19, 2006. The joint venture was then officially announced to operate in February 2007 during the event 3GSM World Congress held in Barcelona, Spain. The headquarters of Nokia Siemens Network is in Finland’s city Espo, in Greater Helsinki with operating branches in around 150 countries.
As for these days, Nokia Siemens Networks announces their plan to install their mobile phone system with a new technology called Dynamic Frequency Channel Allocation of DFCA. When finished, the technology is said will be able to double the capacity of communication network the company has for now. The DFCA works by reducing bands needed for networks like WCDMA, EDGE, and LTE and relaying them for attaining the data needed for Nokia Siemens Networks phones.
