The Rex Exoskeleton Aims to Help the Paraplegics to Walk

We all know that the people with disability need something to support them so that they can do the same activities as the normal people. We all also know that the people who cannot walk need a wheelchair to support them and help them to walk. A wheelchair itself varies differently. There are wheelchairs which use the user’s own hands to run them, yet there are also wheelchairs which uses electricity to run them.

No matter what choice the wheelchairs are, those ordinary wheelchairs do not really help people to stand up since they tend to sit on them all the time. Yet, some researchers in New Zealand have invented a new creation to support people with disability to be able to stand up by using bionic legs. They created the Rex exoskeleton which functions to support the paraplegics.

The Rex exoskeleton is able to support full weight of a person. It is also able to move the person around in such bipedal fashion. The Rex exoskeleton is operated using control pad a joystick. This product is being released in New Zealand this year and it predictably costs around $150,000. Though it is not said that the Rex exoskeleton will help the paraplegics to be able to walk again, it is surely a good way to help them to walk.
