Concept: Solar Camera Strap

If you look at the title, yes I mean it; it’s only a concept for now. But I believed it’s a neat idea, next I’ll tell you why. This concept is design by Weng Jie at Yanko Design (YankoDesign.com).

Why I think this is a great idea? It’s because the nature of DSLR Camera battery usage that is requires only a little power. If you already have this kind of camera, maybe sometimes you forgot to recharge the battery, right? Beside that, the size of the solar cells panels is big enough to provide the energy, and maybe we could use it to charge our cell phones too. But I warned you that cell phone is using more power that a DSLR. That’s why the idea of USB solar charges is not great than this one.

If somebody can put solar cells in a backpack, why not put it in camera strap? I believed many of photographers that now out there in World Cup 2010 Africa would cheers for this idea.  The main question now is who would produce this product? Where we can buy it and at what price? Hope this will come soon.
